Sports Eye Safety Month

April is Sport Eye Safety Month! Sports are a great way to socialize, get your daily exercise, and maybe even blow off some steam after a stressful day. But have you ever thought about how sports can affect your eyes?

Sports such as basketball, hockey, baseball, and boxing often put you at a greater risk for injury. That is why it is important to make sure you have the proper protective eyewear when playing sports.

Proper safety goggles often have polycarbonate lenses which are made of shatter proof plastic and help to protect your eyes from any sports injuries.

Sport eye safety is paramount in any physical activity, as the eyes are vulnerable to injury during intense athletic endeavors. Adequate eye protection, such as goggles or helmets with face shields, is essential to shield against potential hazards like flying balls, swinging equipment, or accidental collisions. These protective gears not only safeguard the eyes from direct impact but also provide a barrier against harmful UV rays and debris, reducing the risk of serious injuries such as corneal abrasions, detached retinas, or even permanent vision loss. Prioritizing sport eye safety not only ensures the preservation of vision but also promotes the enjoyment and longevity of participation in sports activities.
